Frank Albert was born in Berlin and studied Architecture and Design at the State Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart, Interior Design at Kingston University London, and Stage and Costume Design at the Technical University of Berlin. Since 2004, he has been working as a freelance stage designer and painter.
His artistic engagements have taken him to institutions across Germany, Sweden, Finland, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, and Austria. A wide range of exhibitions and interdisciplinary projects reflects the depth and diversity of his practice.
In his painting, Frank Albert explores abstract worlds that unfold like emotional landscapes and visual excavations of memory — journeys into what remains unseen or only partially understood. The search for beauty within the enigmatic is a guiding thread throughout his work.
An expressive yet sensitive use of color gives the paintings a delicate, elusive quality that resists rational explanation. Layered structures, subtle textures, and shifting contours create spaces that invite discovery and intuitive engagement.
This complex, multilayered approach frees the viewer from fixed interpretations and opens a field of associations beyond the hyperreal imagery of everyday life. Through overlapping processes, a sense of depth emerges that allows the invisible to become perceptible and expands the boundaries of the real.
